Connon Design Associates have considerable experience in design in the public realm, with project experience including; Public Parks, Environmental Improvements, Civic Centres, Streetscape and infrastructure projects.
We recently worked with Connon Design on the Easdale WwTW (Wastewater Treatment Works) project. This project is to support the construction of new plant buildings, access track and bridge on the Isle of Seil, off the west coast of Scotland. TrueViewVisuals produced the photomontages for the Scottish Water public exhibition.
To produce the visualisations we had to create the 3D model of the site. This was based on a 2D CAD diagram and detailed terrain data for the complex landscape. We converted the 2D CAD drawing into a 3D model suitable for our 3D viewing software. The terrain data was loaded from OS Terrain 5 that we purchased to integrate the model with.
The TrueViewVisuals software allows the use of real photography to show the proposed development and provide a realistic view of what the effect of the plans will be. Photography for the two viewpoints was supplied by Connon Design and used to create 53.5° by 18.2° photomontages suitable for digital viewing or large format printing.
For the public exhibition, the two photomontages were wrapped in a template to indicate the imagery source, locations and other essential metadata required. The viewpoints are designed to be representative and show the proposed landscape development impact.
